I have been waiting for one part of this house building process to take place and last night, it happened Eeeek! But first I need to start from where I left off last time….
All week long we have been prepping the floors for staining. Which started with protecting our newly painted walls. Eric had the fun job of running the tape along every single wall, he was sore for a few days.
Next up was washing the floor, I have never washed a floor so many times in my life! You would think it was fun because I took a garden hose and sprayed water all over the house. No. Because then you have to clean up that water.
After a long Friday night, that ended in the wee hours of Saturday morning our concrete floors were stained. Someday I will write a more detailed post on that process. Here is a picture of the newly stained concrete floors after they have dried and before we sealed them.
The rest of the weekend consisted of more staining of the trim and a couple coats of poly on the trim. I only have the doors left and then I am done! So many boards! That first section of boards it triple layered.
Eric found some time to get the pretty light hung in my room. I don’t know much about it except that it is old, pretty and came from Eric’s side of the family.
Monday we had quite the delivery that took up most of the garage, can you guess what it is??
It was our kitchen cabinets and the guys got them installed yesterday!!!
This is what I have been waiting for!
I’m so excited! Eeeek!
It’s all starting to come together.
Love Always … Tam
